Happy Veterans Day

On November 11, 1919, U.S. President Woodrow Wilson issued a message to his countrymen on the first Armistice Day (changed to Veterans Day in 1954), in which he expressed what he felt the day meant to Americans:

ADDRESS TO FELLOW-COUNTRYMEN

The White House, November 11, 1919.

A year ago today our enemies laid down their arms in accordance with an armistice which rendered them impotent to renew hostilities, and gave to the world an assured opportunity to reconstruct its shattered order and to work out in peace a new and more just set of international relations. The soldiers and people of the European Allies had fought and endured for more than four years to uphold the barrier of civilization against the aggressions of armed force. We ourselves had been in the conflict for something more than a year and a half.

With splendid forgetfulness of mere personal concerns, we remodeled our industries, concentrated our financial resources, increased our agricultural output, and assembled a great army, so that at the last our power was a decisive factor in the victory. We were able to bring the vast resources, material and moral, of a great and free people to the assistance of our associates in Europe who had suffered and sacrificed without limit in the cause for which we fought.

Out of this victory there arose new possibilities of political freedom and economic concert. The war showed us the strength of great nations acting together for high purposes, and the victory of arms foretells the enduring conquests which can be made in peace when nations act justly and in furtherance of the common interests of men.

To us, in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service, and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of nations.

Buyers Products, a leading manufacturer of work truck equipment, announces the release of a 10-1/2 foot V-plow designed for very heavy-duty use. The new SnowDogg® VXXII plow mounts to Class 4-6 trucks, with wings that ascend from 35 inches in the middle to 45 inches on either end. The plow is the result of increasing market demand for such a large V-plow.

The SnowDogg VXXII went through over two years of rigorous testing and design, before being released. The SnowDogg team, including a host of engineers, product managers and manufacturing staff, worked directly with some of the country’s largest snow and ice contractors to refine every detail.

“It took us several tries to really nail the design,” says Scott Moorman, Director of Snow and Ice Equipment at Buyers Products. “Each iteration got closer and closer, but we weren’t going to settle for anything less than perfection. The feedback from the field testers was an integral, invaluable piece of this process. Afterall, who knows what a plow needs better than the people out there using it every day?”

With its wide wingspan and heavy-duty build, the VXXII specializes in clearing large amounts of heavy, wet snow. The plow features a genuine 304 stainless steel blade with aggressive, flared wings and a robust frame built to absorb heavy impacts. The VXXII also includes popular SnowDogg features like the RapidLink™ Attachment System and Floating A-frame™.

The SnowDogg VXXII is being manufactured at Buyers’ state-of-the-art facility in Northeast Ohio. It will be available for the 2021 winter season. The flatbed is a very popular product. Its main job is to take things from one point to another. A Stakebed is a flatbed with some removable or permanent gates of various heights (40″ most common) to carry taller cargo and have it remain on the bed. All Flatbeds and Stakebeds typically come with a standard square headboard to protect the cab from damage.

There are many options available for the Flatbed and Stakebed such as a liftgate to help get heavy items on and off the bed, under bed tool boxes, HD trailer hitch and wiring, tapered headboard, steel overlay on floor for added strength and longevity (smooth or diamond plate), cranes, tool boxes on top of the bed, HD material rack and many more.
